2026 MOUNTAIN and VALLEY FIBER ARTS FESTIVAL
[ Established in 1983 as the TAOS WOOL FESTIVAL ]
The 2026 Mountain and Valley Fiber Arts Festival will be held on
October 3 & 4 , 2026
9 : 00 - 5 : 00 Saturday | 9 : 00 - 4 : 00 Sunday
La Plata County Fairgrounds & Event Center in Durango, Colorado
Admission is FREE
The Festival Includes:
An Outstanding regional animal and other natural fiber market featuring juried artist vendors offering natural fibers, yarns, finished products, and fiber arts-related tools and equipment, as well as other natural fiber creations.
Fiber Animals including sheep, alpacas, goats, llamas, yaks and more.
Workshops focused on fiber arts techniques delivered by outstanding instructors.
Demonstrations of spinning, dyeing, sheep shearing and many other fiber arts-related skills.
Yarn Bombing! This exciting new addition will help announce the Festival to Durango. Scarves, shawls, mittens, mukluks and blankets made from ACRYLIC yarns will be hung around town, then collected, washed, and donated to assistance programs following the Festival.
